Bus lines are getting cut all over the city to save money, and the Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens neighborhoods are no exception. On a previous visit, an area resident mentioned that the B71, B75 and B77 had been cut. These measures have resulted in longer waits for buses and compromised routes for residents.
Early Monday morning (around 8:30 a.m.), I went to the neighborhood to see how this was affecting bus riders’ trips. I visited the B57 Smith Street stop and the B63 Atlantic Avenue stop.
This is the Doppler effect of a B57 bus near the Smith Street stop.
A Brooklyn College employee has had bad luck with her preferred bus lines being cut.
This lady doesn’t have the extra time she needs to make the new bus routes.
This man has only one complaint: not enough service, specifically into Red Hook.
